The Seven Teams Up with Permut Presentations for Global Film Venture
The Seven, a global strategy studio under Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) Holdings, led by Chief Content Officer Akira Morii in Tokyo, Japan, has entered into a film/series co-development agreement with Permut Presentations, headed by David Permut in Los Angeles, USA.
The collaboration between these two companies marks the beginning of development on a Hollywood film project intended for shooting in Japan. Full-scale development and pre-production activities are scheduled to kick off in the United States, with the involvement of a showrunner. Japanese producer Motoko Kimura, based in Los Angeles, is also part of this agreement, aiming to expand globally in a manner that goes beyond traditional U.S.-Japan frameworks.

Morii boasts an impressive portfolio, including the International Emmy-nominated series Mozu (TBS Television / WOWOW), as well as the global Netflix hits Alice In Borderland and Yu Yu Hakusho. He joined The Seven in 2022.
