 Winners of the Opening Edition of Rose d’Or Latinos Announced

At the end of the first day of Content Americas, the winners of the the first edition of the Latin Rose d’Or awards was held.

Spain topped the list with three awards, followed by Argentina with two. Noticia de un secuestro and El encargado won for best drama and best comedy in Latin America.

Spain, with three awards, led the list of winners by country, followed by Argentina with two. Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay also took home awards, decided by a jury made up of more than 170 leading industry executives and chaired by Mas Ros Media CEO, Marcos Santana.

NOTICIA DE UN SECUESTRO & EL ENCARGADO AT TOP

Produced by Chilean company Invercine & Wood for Prime Video and with production services from TIS Productions in Colombia, Noticia de un secuestro beat series La Unidad Kabul (Movistar Plus+, Spain), El cuerpo en llamas (Netflix, Spain), La cabeza de Joaquín Murrieta (Prime Video, Mexico), Cromosoma 21 (Canal 13, Chile) and Las noches de Tefía (Atresplayer, Spain).

El encargado, created for Star+ by the duo Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, led in the comedy category. The series has been one of Disney’s great productions in Latin America, which has already renewed the comedy for a third season.

It competed against titles such as Nada (Star+, Argentina), División Palermo (Netflix, Argentina), El Presidente 2 (Prime Video, Brazil), Déjate ver (Atresplayer, Spain) and Dating Barcelona (Prime Video, Spain).

PRIME VIDEO WON THE MOST AWARDS

By screens, Prime Video was the most awarded, with a total of four wins. In addition to best drama for Noticia de un secuestro, the platform won the awards for best film (Argentina, 1985), best reality or factual program (Libre de reir) and best documentary (Los sobrevivientes. Colonia dignidad).

Continuing with scripted, Globoplay won the best telenovela with its original All the Flowers, HBO Max won the best children’s or children’s-youth series with Te Quiero y Me Duele and Movistar Plus+ best short or multiplatform series with Poquita fe.

Poquita fe was one of Spain’s three victories. It also won with Falso amor (Netflix) as best talent or competition program and El hormiguero (Antena 3) as comedy or variety entertainment.

In audio, finally, the Uruguayan podcast Frente al asesino, from Spotify, was crowned.
