100 Zeros is a production venture established through a collaboration between Google and Range Media Partners, focused on creating short-form, vertical microseries designed for mobile devices.
The initiative has enlisted seasoned TV talents, including Mike Fleiss, the creator of The Bachelor, who is developing a self-shot reality romance series called Dateable; McG, executive producer of The OC, who is returning to Orange County with a mini-series titled Newport Beach; Kenan Thompson of Saturday Night Live, producing a darkly comedic kidnapping-themed microseries; and Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, who is crafting microseries centered around music, youth culture, and emerging talent.
These bite-sized shows will first debut on the Google TV app for Android phones before expanding to other, yet-to-be-announced platforms. The format emphasizes short, mobile-friendly, and easily accessible content aimed primarily at young, mobile-first audiences.
Behind the scenes, Google has quietly entered film and TV production financing through 100 Zeros, with the goal of portraying technology and AI in a more positive light than some dystopian narratives like Netflix’s Black Mirror.
