StudioCanal has increased its stake in the Scandinavian production company Sam Productions to 51%, gaining majority control.
The company is also merging Sam Productions with Meta Film and A&M Productions to create a larger, unified structure under one roof. Sam Productions is known for producing major series such as Borgen, The Chestnut Man, and Ragnarok. In the new structure, Adam Price and Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen will each retain a 24.5% shareholding and remain as partners within the company.
The goal of the consolidation is to build a stronger and more integrated Nordic content hub while expanding international production capacity. StudioCanal has stated that the merger will not affect day-to-day operations, teams, or ongoing projects.
According to StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh, this new structure is expected to enable stronger creative collaborations in the future. Overall, the reorganization aims to position Nordic content for a more powerful presence in the global market.
