The first official trailer for Wicker has been released, offering a glimpse into the offbeat comedy that premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
Starring Olivia Colman, the film follows an outcast fisherwoman whose longing for companionship leads her to commission a husband woven from wicker by the village basketmaker, played by Peter Dinklage.
Alexander Skarsgård stars as the extraordinary wicker husband, whose unexpected charm and remarkable presence quickly disrupt the quiet rhythms of village life. His arrival sparks jealousy, fascination, and growing unrest among the locals, setting the stage for a whimsical story that blends romance, comedy, and fable. The film’s tagline, “A hard man is good to find,” reflects its playful and unconventional tone.

Written and directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, Wicker also features Elizabeth Debicki in a supporting role. The film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2026, where Colman praised the screenplay as “one of the top three favorite scripts I’ve ever read.”
Following its festival debut, Black Bear acquired the North American distribution rights in February. Wicker is scheduled to open in limited theatrical release on October 23, 2026, before expanding to additional theaters a week later.
