Formula E is heading to Disney+ under a new long-term broadcasting agreement beginning with the 2026–2027 season.
Under the agreement signed between Disney+, ESPN and Formula E, all races from the championship will be available to stream live on Disney+ across numerous international markets, including Türkiye.
The champion of the 12th season will be crowned following the final races in London this weekend. With the start of the new broadcasting era, the electric motorsport series will further expand its global reach.
The 2026–2027 season will get underway in Jeddah on December 18. Comprising 13 events and 21 races, the season will visit major cities including Austin, Miami, Monaco and Mexico City before concluding with the season finale in Tokyo on July 25, 2027.
The agreement will further strengthen Formula E’s presence among Disney+’s international sports offerings, allowing viewers in Türkiye to follow every race of the championship live on the platform.
Joe Earley, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment’s Direct-to-Consumer Services, said: “Formula E brings together competition, groundbreaking technology and sustainability in a way unlike any other sport in the world. We are thrilled to power the next chapter of the championship on Disney+ and give fans around the world the opportunity to experience every adrenaline-fueled race from the front row.”
Formula E Chief Executive Officer Jeff Dodds also commented on the agreement: “This is a landmark moment for Formula E and a testament to the incredible momentum our championship has built. Disney’s unrivalled global reach and storytelling power will introduce Formula E to millions of new fans, bringing them closer than ever to the competition, innovation and excitement of electric racing. Beyond live race coverage, we are also looking forward to exploring new projects that Formula E and Disney can bring to life together and delivering more innovative and immersive experiences for fans in the years ahead.”
The addition of the World Championship further expands Disney+’s growing slate of live sports content around the world. Alongside the 2026 FIFA World Cup in South America, selected LALIGA matches in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Ireland and France, NBA games in the Philippines, and UEFA Women’s Champions League matches in Europe and Latin America are among the live sports offerings available to Disney+ audiences across different markets.
Formula E Enters the GEN4 Era
First held in 2014, Formula E is preparing to enter a new era in motorsport with the 2026–2027 season. The highly anticipated GEN4 era will see the fastest and most powerful cars in Formula E history take to the track.
Producing more than 600 kW of power, equivalent to over 815 horsepower, GEN4 cars will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 1.8 seconds. With acceleration around 30% faster than a Formula 1 car, GEN4 is set to establish a new performance benchmark in electric motorsport. The new season will also introduce a revamped race-weekend format designed to increase competition and excitement on the track.
With Formula E coming to Disney+, viewers will be able to follow not only the races but also practice and qualifying sessions, pre- and post-race analysis programmes, and race highlights on the platform.
The Season 12 Champion Will Be Crowned in London
The ongoing 12th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will conclude with races in London on August 15 and 16. The final races of the season will also determine the 12th-season World Champion.
In addition to live sports coverage, Disney+ offers audiences a broad selection of documentaries, original productions and sports content, including ESPN’s acclaimed documentary collection and selected studio programmes.
