Gemma Arterton’s new espionage thriller Secret Service is coming to MGM+ after the premium streaming and television service acquired the five-part drama from All3Media International and Potboiler Productions.
The series will be available to viewers in the US, Canada, Latin America and Italy.
What is Secret Service about?
Based on Tom Bradby’s novel, Secret Service follows MI6 officer Kate Henderson (Gemma Arterton) as she investigates a shocking possibility: a senior British politician could secretly be working as a Russian asset.
As Kate gets closer to the truth, the investigation puts her career, loyalties and personal life at risk. She must navigate a dangerous world of political intrigue and international espionage while trying to uncover the identity of the suspected asset before it is too late.
Who stars in Secret Service?
Alongside Gemma Arterton, the cast includes Rafe Spall, Alex Kingston, Mark Stanley, Roger Allam, Amaka Okafor, Aoife Hinds, Avi Nash, Alma Prelec and Khalid Abdalla.
The series was created and adapted by Tom Bradby and Jemma Kennedy, while Oscar-winning filmmaker James Marsh and Farren Blackburn share directing duties.
Secret Service has already made an impact
The thriller has already attracted attention in the UK. Its opening episode drew 3.9 million viewers, making it ITV1’s second-biggest new drama launch of 2026.
The series also premiered at the Italian Global Series Festival, where Rafe Spall won Best Lead Actor in a Drama. Alex Kingston recently received the Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series award at the National Film Awards in London.
The MGM+ acquisition marks the platform’s first deal with All3Media International, which is also distributing the series internationally.
With Gemma Arterton leading a story filled with espionage, political secrets and high-stakes twists, Secret Service is now set to reach a new audience on MGM+.
