The UK’s celebrity edition of The Traitors is preparing to bring a new group of famous faces into the castle, with BBC confirming an October 1 premiere for The Celebrity Traitors.
Bella Ramsey, Maya Jama, Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen and James Acaster are among the celebrities taking part in the new season, which will air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
When Will The Celebrity Traitors Return?
The new season will premiere on October 1, following months of speculation over its launch date. The BBC has also released a new trailer offering a first look at the contestants as they begin navigating the game in the Scottish Highlands.
Host Claudia Winkleman returns to oversee the competition, where the contestants must determine who among them is secretly working as a Traitor while the Faithful attempt to survive each round.
Who Is Taking Part in The Celebrity Traitors?
The Season 2 lineup brings together personalities from entertainment, sport, comedy and television.
The cast includes The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, presenter Maya Jama, actor Richard E. Grant, comedian James Acaster, musician James Blunt, actor Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jerry Hall, Joe Lycett, Joanne McNally, Rob Beckett, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
Amol Rajan, King Kenny, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Myha’la and Professor Hannah Fry also feature in the lineup.
BBC content chief Kate Phillips previously teased an emotional season filled with unexpected moments, suggesting that the celebrity version will bring plenty of drama alongside its strategic gameplay.
Can The Celebrity Traitors Match Its First-Season Success?
The pressure is high after the first season became the most-watched programme on British television in 2025. The series averaged 14.9 million viewers across BBC One and iPlayer, with the finale reaching 15.4 million.
Comedian Alan Carr ultimately won the inaugural celebrity edition, which also featured stars including Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie.
