ATV’s new-season drama Hamal (The Porter) has gone into production. Produced by KYN Yapım, the series is set in Istanbul and brings together Oktay Kaynarca, Fahriye Evcen and Caner Cindoruk in the lead roles.
Oktay Kaynarca, Fahriye Evcen and Caner Cindoruk Lead the Cast
Oktay Kaynarca plays Porter Kemal, a porter carrying the weight of his past. Fahriye Evcen stars as Hayat, a singer who makes a living performing at venues, while Caner Cindoruk portrays Egemen, a man determined to build his own empire in Istanbul.
The extensive cast also includes Erdal Özyağcılar, Burak Tozkoparan, Sarp Akkaya, Yiğit Uçan, Yasemin Yazıcı, Zeynep Kankonde, İpek Erdem, Hakan Karsak, Sera Kutlubey, Fatih Yücebağ, Onur Dilber, Elifnaz Altay, İlayda Çevik and Mine Teber, among others.
A Story of Conflict and Reckoning in Istanbul
Hamal (The Porter) moves between different sides of Istanbul, from the city’s historic inns and porter culture to its modern plazas. At the centre of the story is Kemal, whose past catches up with him and forces him to confront the life he once left behind.
As Hayat struggles to make a living and Egemen seeks power and control, their paths cross with Kemal’s journey. The series explores themes of guilt, redemption and starting over, while the stories of Tekin and Hilal, as well as Esfender and Melez, add further layers to the central conflict.

Produced by KYN Yapım, Hamal (The Porter) is produced by Oktay Kaynarca and Onur Kaynarca. Mustafa Şevki Doğan directs the series, while the original story comes from Oktay Kaynarca. The screenplay is written by Kerem Deren, Çisil Hazal Tenim and Bilge Kurban of the Catchy Film Writing Team.
Hamal (The Porter) will premiere on ATV in the new season.
