The nominees for the 2026 International Emmy Awards have been announced, with Türkiye securing two nominations in this year’s competition. Ay Yapım productions Leyla and Far Away (Uzak Şehir) have both been nominated in the Telenovela category.
Announced by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the 2026 nominations feature 64 nominees across 16 categories, representing 22 countries. Both of Türkiye’s nominations come in the same category, giving Turkish productions two of the four places in this year’s Telenovela race.
Which Turkish series are nominated?
Ay Yapım’s Leyla and Far Away will compete against Brazil’s Garota do Momento, produced by Globo, and Spain’s Valle Salvaje – Season 2 (Wild Valley) from StudioCanal.
With two Turkish productions among the four nominees, Türkiye accounts for half of the Telenovela category this year. The nominations also mark a notable achievement for Ay Yapım, which has two separate titles competing for the same International Emmy.
The recognition adds to the international visibility of Turkish drama, which has established a significant presence across global television markets over recent years. The nominations for Leyla and Uzak Şehir now bring two more Turkish productions onto one of international television’s major awards stages.
When will the winners be announced?
All nominees will gather in New York for the International Emmy World Television Festival from November 20 to 22, which will include nominee panels and presentations ahead of the awards ceremony.
The winners will then be announced at the 54th International Emmy Awards Gala in New York City on Monday, November 23, 2026. Ay Yapım is also listed among the official partners of this year’s gala.
For Türkiye, attention will therefore be focused on the Telenovela category, where Leyla and Far Away will compete for the same International Emmy.
