Eccho Rights marked its 15th anniversary with an opening party at Canopy by Hilton Cannes on October 12, bringing together industry professionals to celebrate the company’s international journey and highlight its collaboration with TOD. The event also put the spotlight on The Hatmaker, with actors Selahattin Paşalı and Pınar Deniz, alongside director Ömür Atay, attending the presentation.
Eccho Rights’ The Hatmaker Explores Women, Family and Change
Presented by Eccho Rights‘ Hakan Özkubat, The Hatmaker was among the key titles introduced at the event. The discussion brought attention to the series’ exploration of women’s power and identity during a period of social change, as well as the challenges faced by a family attempting to find its way back to one another.
The series examines how shifting circumstances affect relationships, personal choices and family dynamics. Its focus on a changing woman in a changing era places female agency at the heart of the story, while the family’s efforts to reconnect add another layer to its emotional narrative.
The presence of Paşalı, Deniz and Atay offered attendees an opportunity to hear more about the production and the themes shaping the series.
Asiye Joins Eccho Rights’ International Slate
Another title introduced at the event was Asiye, a new daily drama produced by Kino Film Productions for Kanal 7. The series is the latest addition to Eccho Rights’ long-standing partnership with the broadcaster, which has previously delivered international titles including Legacy, Winds of Love and Behind the Veil.
Starring Esengül Aypek as Asiye and Ferhat Işıktaş as İlyas, the drama follows a woman whose life changes irrevocably when she loses her husband, newborn son and freedom on the same day. Seven years later, after being released from prison, she saves a drowning boy outside the home of one of Istanbul’s most powerful families, unaware that he is the son she believed she had lost forever.
Directed by Taner Tunç and Nuh Şen, Asiye is scheduled to premiere on Kanal 7 in November, with international presales opening ahead of its debut.
Celebrating 15 Years of International Collaboration
The Cannes gathering also celebrated Eccho Rights’ 15 years in the international television business. The company highlighted its collaboration with TOD on Alıkara, Doors of Destiny and The Florist, as part of its ongoing work connecting Turkish productions with audiences in international markets.
By combining the anniversary celebration with a presentation of The Hatmaker, Eccho Rights used the occasion to spotlight both its industry partnerships and the Turkish drama titles it is bringing to the global content market.
The event formed part of the company’s MIPCOM 2026 activities, as international distributors, producers and broadcasters gathered in Cannes to discuss new projects and opportunities for collaboration.
