A24 has released the first official teaser for The Drama, a character-driven film led by Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The story centers on a couple whose wedding week spirals into an unexpected crisis.
The film is directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the Norwegian filmmaker behind Nicolas Cage’s Dream Scenario, and is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen, a duo known for projects that play with tone and perspective. Zendaya stars as Emma Harwood, an editor at a publishing house, while Pattinson portrays Charlie Thompson, the British director of the Cambridge Museum of Art. Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim and Hailey Gates also appear in supporting roles.
As part of the film’s marketing campaign, a faux wedding announcement was placed in The Boston Globe, revealing backstory details about the characters. According to the notice, Emma grew up in Louisiana and studied English at Boston University, while Charlie holds a PhD in art history from Tufts University.
Set to be one of 2026’s most anticipated titles, The Drama explores how quickly a seemingly steady and loving relationship can unravel. The film is expected to hits theaters on April 3, 2026.
