The broadcast of Portrait of a Scandalous Family, produced by Medyapım and globally distributed by Madd Entertainment, has been pulled off the air following a court order requested by the descendants of the Şakir Paşa family. The new episode, which was set to air last night (February 23, 2025), never made it to the screen, and all episodes have been removed from NOW TV’s website, YouTube, and Disney+.
Last week, RTÜK issued three separate broadcast suspensions and fines against the series. Now, the court ruling obtained by the family’s descendants has resulted in a full access ban on the already aired episodes, as well as a prohibition on filming new ones.
The production company is expected to appeal. The future of the series will depend on the outcome of that appeal.
