 The Nominees for the Oscar have been Announced

The nominees for the Oscar (Academy) Awards given by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have been announced. The Teachers’ Room, directed by Turkish director İlker Çatak, who was born and raised in Germany, is also among the nominees.

Actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the Oscar nominees in a live broadcast.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which swept the awards, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Emma Stone’s Poor Things stood out in the 2024 Oscar nominations.

TURKISH DIRECTOR’S FILM NOMINATED FOR OSCAR

The Teachers’ Lounge by Turkish director İlker Çatak, who was born and raised in Germany, has been nominated for Germany’s Oscar in the Best International Film category.

The film is about Carla Nowak, an idealistic and dedicated teacher who starts her first job at a high school.

TO BE AWARDED ON 11 MARCH

The 96th Oscar Awards will take place this year on 11 March, Türkiye time, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles.

The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ABC channel, will be hosted by famous comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
