PBS Distribution returns to The London TV Screenings this February with a stand-out showcase offering international buyers a first look at some of the most ambitious new documentaries.
Bringing together three of the most respected voices in factual storytelling –Bettany Hughes, Lynn Novick and Dan Chambers– the session promises deep creative insight, exceptional editorial quality and access to a slate of premium programming designed to meet growing global demand for high-quality factual content.
On Wednesday 25 February 2026 at the Curzon in Soho, PBS Distribution will present a curated selection of new factual projects spanning history, science, culture and contemporary issues. The showcase underscores PBS Distribution’s mission to deliver thought-provoking, globally resonant content backed by rigorous journalism, expert storytelling and a long-standing track record of international success. Attendees will receive exclusive early access to several titles that will headline PBS Distribution’s 2026 global sales slate.
The showcase will feature in-depth presentations from:
Bettany Hughes – Vikings: First Blood (w.t)
Renowned historian and broadcaster Bettany Hughes presents Vikings: First Blood, a vivid and human exploration of the origins of Viking society.
Lynn Novick – Crime and Punishment in America
Acclaimed documentarian Lynn Novick -longtime collaborator with Ken Burns, including The Vietnam War, Jazz, and The US and the Holocaust– presents her newest multi-layered investigation into the history of the U.S. justice system. Crime and Punishment in America traces years of legal ideals, contradictions and consequences to explore how systems of justice and injustice have evolved.
Dan Chambers – Mystery of the First Temple
Mystery of the First Temple explores Göbekli Tepe, the world’s oldest known temple. Built around 9,500BC, it predates civilisation and Stonehenge. New discoveries reveal a fertile paradise where hunter gatherers settled, and investigate why this ancient Eden was abandoned.
“This showcase represents the very best of PBS Distribution’s factual programming,” said Joe Barrett, Vice President of Global Sales at PBS Distribution. “With Bettany, Lynn and Dan’s involvement, we are delighted to offer international buyers a first look at content that informs, engages, and inspires.” He added, “This year’s lineup also reflects our ongoing investment in globally relevant factual content that speaks directly to the needs of broadcasters and platforms worldwide.”
Beyond these standout titles, PBS Distribution will also preview a selection of forthcoming factual programming from across their acclaimed portfolio. The expanded slate reflects the company’s commitment to delivering editorially robust storytelling with global relevance.
“Our access to astounding Viking-world finds, including The Salme Ship Burial, reveals the true story of the Viking’s origins and of a high-stakes expedition gone wrong. In this unique glimpse with fresh evidence we meet families and brothers in arms, who all perished together on a shore far from home. It’s an honour to be working with the incredible research teams who are piecing together their story,” said Bettany Hughes.
“I’m delighted to attend the London TV Screenings for the first time with PBS Distribution to unveil Crime and Punishment in America. While the series is rooted in American history, the profound questions it asks about the root cause of crime, the purpose of punishment, and the search for justice are universal. The stories we tell will resonate far beyond the U.S., and have tremendous relevance for broadcasters and audiences worldwide,” said Lynn Novick.
