Disney+ and Hulu have reached a new video podcasting deal with iHeartMedia, bringing six iHeartPodcasts titles to the streaming platforms.
The iHeartPodcasts rollout will begin with Hey Jonas!, which will premiere on both Disney+ and Hulu on August 14. The deal will also bring Pod Meets World to Disney+, while Desperately Devoted, Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald, StraightioLab and Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim will stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S.
New episodes of the participating podcasts will be released weekly. Desperately Devoted will launch its video edition on Hulu on November 2, with Teri Hatcher, Andrea Bowen and Emerson Tenney revisiting Desperate Housewives. Meanwhile, Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald will give Scrubs viewers an opportunity to revisit the series alongside Zach Braff and Donald Faison, with its Hulu debut scheduled for later this year.
The agreement expands the podcast offerings already available across Disney+ and Hulu, which include licensed, rewatch and companion podcasts connected to the platforms’ series and other programming.
For iHeartMedia, the partnership provides an additional distribution channel for its podcast catalogue, while Disney+ and Hulu continue to incorporate video podcasts into their streaming content.
