Karen Gillan, known for her roles in franchises such as Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy, has joined the cast of the acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy-drama Shrinking for its fourth season in a recurring role.
Created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, the series follows the story of Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist played by Segel, who decides to become drastically more involved in the lives of his patients.
The fourth season marks a new era for the show, following the conclusion of the original three-season arc that centered on themes of grief, forgiveness, and moving forward. Co-creator Bill Lawrence confirmed that while the fourth season will feature the same cast, it will tell a “new” story focusing on the established characters. Karen Gillan will appear alongside Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley.
Throughout its run, the sitcom has garnered significant acclaim, maintaining an impressive 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes across all three seasons, with the second season achieving a near-perfect rating of 97%.
