Nick Jonas has signed on to star in an untitled Netflix romantic comedy directed by Oscar winner Ari Sandel, known for The DUFF.
The film follows a carefree bachelor whose world is turned upside down when he unexpectedly gains custody of his cousin’s infant. Just as he begins to settle into fatherhood, the child’s godmother appears during the holidays to claim custody, leading to an unforeseen love story between the two. The script is written by Tamara Chestna, whose credits include Something from Tiffany’s and Moxie.
This project adds to a remarkably busy year for Nick Jonas, who is currently highly active in film. He is set to star opposite Paul Rudd in the musical dramedy Power Ballad, hitting theaters on June 5, and is also developing the holiday horror film White Elephant with Kathryn Newton.
Furthermore, Jonas will rejoin Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black for the latest installment of the Jumanji franchise, which is expected to premiere this year during the Christmas season.
