Directed by Olivia Wilde and written by the creative duo Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, the buzzy new feature The Invite serves as a reimagining of the acclaimed Spanish film The People Upstairs.
Boasting a powerhouse ensemble cast, the movie stars Wilde alongside Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, and Penélope Cruz. The story centers on Joe and Angela (Wilde and Rogen), a couple whose relationship is on thin ice, as they host their upstairs neighbors (Norton and Cruz) for a dinner party that quickly spirals into a chaotic test of honesty and hidden desires.

Following its standout premiere at Sundance, where it earned an impressive 91% “fresh” rating from critics, the film was acquired by A24. Reviewers have hailed the production for its raw and endearing honesty, particularly in its exploration of sex and complex relationship dynamics.
The Invite is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on June 26, 2026, with a subsequent release in the UK and Ireland on July 3.
