Sky has unveiled the cast of SNL UK, the first British adaptation of Saturday Night Live.
The six-part series will premiere on March 21 on Sky and NOW. The cast includes rising UK comedy talents such as Emma Sidi, Jack Shep, and Hammed Animashaun. The 11-member ensemble brings together performers from television, stand-up comedy, and theatre.
Each episode will stay true to the original Saturday Night Live format, being written, rehearsed and performed within the same week and staged in front of a live studio audience.
The show will feature an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music performances and a UK take on Weekend Update.
The series is produced for Sky by Universal Television Alternative Studio UK and Broadway Video, with SNL creator Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer.
Sky positions the project as a key part of its strategy to spotlight and develop a new generation of British comedy talent.
