Netflix has officially greenlit a high-stakes Las Vegas casino drama, uniting the creative minds behind Billions with the legendary Martin Scorsese.
This untitled eight-episode series is already being hailed as one of the year’s most ambitious projects. The show is created and showrun by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the duo celebrated for their expertise in financial and high-tension narratives like Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen. Adding unparalleled prestige to the production, Martin Scorsese, the master of Vegas-set epics like Casino, serves as executive producer, ensuring the series carries his signature atmospheric depth.
Oscar Isaac, fresh off his acclaimed performance in Beef Season 2, is set to star as Robert ‘Bobby Red’ Redman, the president of Las Vegas’s premier hotel-casino. The plot follows Redman as he navigates a series of perilous maneuvers to defend his empire and expand his influence in the volatile gambling world.
The project also marks the first launch under a strategic first-look partnership between Netflix and Isaac’s production company, Mad Gene. As a gritty, hour-long drama, the series aims to explore the ruthless power struggles and moral compromises inherent in the management of Sin City’s most glittering, and dangerous, assets.
