SIC’s Portuguese drama Vitória has won Best Soap/Telenovela at the 2026 Venice TV Awards, adding another international recognition to the series as it continues its push into global markets.
Produced by SP Televisão for SIC, Vitória previously received a Silver Medal in the Entertainment – Episodic category at the World Media Festivals. The series is currently airing weekdays on SIC, with episodes released in advance on OPTO and Disney+ every Sunday.
Vitória: From Turkish format to international drama
Vitória is adapted from the Turkish drama Gülperi, originally produced by TIMS&B and distributed internationally by Global Agency. The story follows a mother who, after losing her husband, takes on a powerful family in a determined fight to regain custody of her children.
SIC International Distribution handles the worldwide distribution of Vitória, which has already secured a deal in Canada. The series is set to premiere on OMNI Television, further expanding its international footprint.
The distributor will bring the series to MIPCOM Cannes from October 12–15, where it will present a new version of the drama comprising 140 episodes across three seasons. The revised structure is designed to give international buyers greater flexibility in programming and acquisition.
The Venice TV Awards recognition comes as SIC positions the series as another example of Portuguese fiction with international sales potential, combining a proven story concept with locally produced drama and a format designed for multiple markets.
