Nicole Wallace has been cast opposite Josh Heuston in Amazon MGM’s Throttled, a new romance based on Lauren Asher’s bestselling Dirty Air book series.
Wallace will lead the film as Maya Alatorre, an ambitious young woman who joins her brother on the racing circuit. There, she becomes involved in a forbidden romance with Noah Slade, played by Heuston, a ruthless driver and her brother’s fiercest rival.

The casting marks another collaboration between Wallace and Amazon MGM, which signed the Spanish-American actress to an exclusive talent-holding deal following the success of the Culpables romantic drama trilogy. Wallace also stars in the studio’s Spanish-language series The House of Spirits and the upcoming Postcards from Italy, which is being produced with Gaumont Italia.
Throttled is adapted from the first novel in Lauren Asher’s Dirty Air series. Nzingha Stewart is directing from a screenplay by Melissa Osborne.
Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions are producing alongside Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay of Ethea Entertainment, with Garrett Grant also producing. Alison Small and Asher serve as executive producers.
