Emilia Jones is set to lead Netflix’s upcoming drama series, The Retrievals, created by Molly Smith Metzler, the producer of Maid and Sirens.
Inspired by Susan Burton’s Peabody Award-winning podcast of the same name, The Retrievals centers on a real-life scandal that took place at the Yale Fertility Center. After a nurse at the clinic stole fentanyl intended for patients, nearly 100 women underwent extremely painful egg retrieval procedures without adequate anesthesia.
Jones will play Gabby Clemente, a bartender and student teacher living in New Haven. After undergoing (experience tekrarı olmasın aynı cümlede)a traumatic egg retrieval procedure herself, Gabby discovers what happened at the clinic and begins searching for other women who went through similar experiences. Their stories eventually lead to a major legal battle against Yale University.
The project brings Jones back to Netflix after her role in Locke & Key. Recently, she appeared in HBO’s Task, and she is also attached to upcoming projects including The 99’ers and Bad Bridgets.
Metzler will serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer through her Quiet Coyote banner. Colin McKenna, Caitlin Roper and Susan Burton are also executive producers, alongside Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap.
Lila Neugebauer (isimlere özellikle dikkat edelim) is set to direct the pilot and will also executive produce the series.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for The Retrievals.
