Regular Show is officially making a comeback with a new series titled The Lost Tapes, marking its return nearly a decade after the original show ended.
The revival will premiere globally on Cartoon Network on May 11, 2026, starting with a special half-hour episode. Created once again by J. G. Quintel, who also reprises his role as the voice of Mordecai, the new series stays true to the spirit of the original, focusing on the chaotic and surreal adventures of Mordecai and Rigby as park groundskeepers. Their everyday laziness once again spirals into absurd, high-stakes situations.
The Regular Show revival also brings back much of the original voice cast, including Mark Hamill, reinforcing its connection to the beloved original. In addition to the TV release, the comeback is supported by an interactive Roblox experience, allowing fans to engage with the show’s universe in a metaverse setting.
JG Quintel, the creator, executive producer and voice of Mordecai, said in a statement that the reboot “reminds me a lot of the original run.”
“It’s been so much fun working with everyone on more Regular Show,” he said. “We’re just making stuff for ourselves and trying to crack each other up. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
