BBC has commissioned two new dramas set and filmed in Wales, in collaboration with BBC Cymru Wales.
The projects include the supernatural series The Witch Farm and the crime drama Old Town Murders.
The Witch Farm (4×60’) is adapted from the podcast by Danny Robins and follows a couple who move into a rural farmhouse in Wales in search of a fresh start, only to encounter unsettling and unexplained supernatural events. The series is produced by Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios.
Meanwhile, Old Town Murders (6×60’), produced by Quay Street Productions, centers on a series of murder investigations in the seaside town of Tenby. The show stars Mark Lewis Jones and Steffan Rhodri as detectives navigating complex cases.
Both dramas are being made for iPlayer and BBC One, with ITV Studios handling international distribution. The commissions form part of the the channel’s broader strategy to expand locally produced content across Wales and other regions, while also creating stories with global appeal.
