Russell Crowe and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are set to lead the sci-fi action thriller Bluefly, directed by Nimród Antal. The screenplay comes from David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank.
Set deep in the Congo, the film follows a grieving UN translator who becomes involved in a covert mission to recover a crashed aircraft that should not exist. As a Special Operations team ventures through militia-controlled territory, the mission takes a dangerous turn and reveals a much larger threat.
Michael Jefferson, David Frigerio, Deborah Glover, Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier and Vanessa Yao Guo are producing the project. Highland Film Group is handling worldwide sales, with the company set to launch the film at the upcoming TIFF Market.
Production is scheduled to begin later this year on Australia’s Gold Coast. Antal describes Bluefly as a character-driven thriller that combines an intense suspense story with a bold science-fiction premise.
