Kate Walsh has been cast as the lead in the CBS comedy pilot The Tillbrooks.
The project was created by Tara Hernandez and is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
The series follows the upper-middle-class Tillbrooks family in 19th-century England, navigating life, love and social scandals.
Kate Walsh will portray Jocelyn Tillbrooks, the ambitious and theatrical matriarch of the family. The character is described as someone who frequently schemes to elevate her family’s social standing and occasionally bursts into song.
Rhys Darby will star opposite Walsh as the family patriarch Arthur Tillbrooks. The cast also includes Hayley Griffith, Mia Challis, Shiv Pai, and child actor Jax James.
Walsh is widely known for playing Dr. Addison Montgomery in Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off Private Practice. Her recent TV credits include 13 Reasons Why, The Umbrella Academy, and Emily in Paris.
The project marks Walsh’s return to the multi-camera sitcom format.
