After running for eight seasons on Netflix, Somebody Feed Phil will move to YouTube for its new episodes starting in 2027.
The show’s host and creator, Phil Rosenthal, says the shift is aimed at reaching a broader global audience. The move is part of a wider partnership between Rosenthal’s production company Lucky Bastards and Banijay Americas and Banijay Rights.
Previous seasons of Somebody Feed Phil will remain available on Netflix, while new episodes will premiere in 2027 on the “Phil Rosenthal World” YouTube channel. However, the series will not be entirely exclusive to YouTube, as Banijay also plans to license the show across additional digital platforms, including FAST and AVOD services.
The move stands out as a rare example of a show shifting away from Netflix to YouTube, reversing the more common trend of Netflix acquiring popular YouTube-originated content.
