Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Sesame Workshop have brought The Cat in the Hat and Sesame Street together for the first time in a new YouTube crossover aimed at preschool audiences.
The collaboration launched on September 30 with two digital episodes, each released on a different YouTube channel. The content was co-produced with Little Dot Studios and brings the Cat in the Hat together with Sesame Street characters Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Cookie Monster.
Two episodes, two YouTube channels
The crossover also introduces a new song, “Get Ready to Go,” performed by the Cat in the Hat and the Sesame Street characters. The track is being released on YouTube as well as other music platforms.
The Sesame Street YouTube channel launched the musical episode “Get Ready to Go” Song with Elmo & The Cat in the Hat, in which the characters help children get ready for different occasions, from rainy days to tea parties.
Meanwhile, the Dr. Seuss YouTube channel premiered “Learn the ABCs with The Cat in the Hat and Sesame Street | Missing Letters Game for Kids.” The episode sees the Cat in the Hat take on the role of substitute teacher as Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby try to complete the alphabet after several letters mysteriously disappear.
The two channels are offering different episodes as part of the crossover, giving audiences separate stories featuring the characters from both franchises.
