BossaNova Media has secured its first international presales for The Land That Made Us, a new factual series fronted by Professor Alice Roberts.
The six-part series has been pre-sold to Channel 4 in the UK, BBC Select in the US and SBS Australia. Produced by Tectonic Productions, the company co-founded by Roberts, Dom Bowles and Theo Williams, the show will be presented to international buyers at MIPCOM Cannes 2026.
What Is The Land That Made Us About?
Across six 60-minute episodes, Roberts travels across Britain to explore how geology and landscape have influenced local communities, industries and regional identities.
From Cornwall’s mining heritage and North Wales’ slate industry to the industrial history of Sheffield and the landscapes of the Cotswolds and East Yorkshire, the series connects Britain’s physical landscape with the history of the people who live there.
The Land That Made Us expands BossaNova’s growing slate of programmes featuring Roberts, which also includes Secret of the Lost Grail and the By Train franchise.
