Netflix has entered the development stage for a series adaptation of the 1979 legal thriller And Justice for All, which originally starred Al Pacino.
The project is being produced by Sony Pictures Television, with the screenplay being penned by Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn, whose previous credits include Entourage and Ally McBeal.
The executive production team includes Ross Fineman of Fineman Entertainment, who previously served as an executive producer on The Lincoln Lawyer, a series Netflix recently announced will conclude with its fifth season. The original film, directed by Norman Jewison, followed an idealistic lawyer who reaches a breaking point after being blackmailed into defending a self-righteous judge accused of rape during a high-profile trial.
The 1979 feature was a commercial success, grossing approximately $33 million against a $4 million budget, and earned Al Pacino an Oscar nomination.
