Eccho Rights has expanded its partnership with The Walt Disney Company through two new licensing agreements covering Portugal and the MENA region.
Under the new deals, Turkish drama Golden Boy (Yalı Çapkını) will air on STAR Life in Portugal, while My Home My Destiny (Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir) will stream on Disney+ across MENA.
Two Turkish dramas, two new territories
Produced by OGM Pictures for Star TV, Golden Boy became a major ratings hit in Turkey. The series follows a wealthy but reckless young heir whose life changes after he is pushed into an arranged marriage, combining family conflict, romance and comedy.
My Home My Destiny, also produced by OGM Pictures, was originally made for TV8 and explores identity, belonging and love through a contemporary family drama. The series broke multiple ratings records on TV8 and has been sold to more than 150 territories worldwide.
The agreements build on Eccho Rights’ relationship with The Walt Disney Company, which began expanding earlier this year when STAR Life Portugal acquired Everywhere I Go and My Sweet Lie. The latest deals extend the partnership into both a new territory and Disney+’s MENA platform.
Melis Hamamcioglu, Director of Digital Media Acquisition & Content Sales at Eccho Rights, commented:
“To be expanding our relationship with The Walt Disney Company across two of their platforms and into a new region in the space of a few months is a real marker of where Turkish drama sits today in the international market. The appetite among premium platforms for proven, emotionally driven content from Turkey is only growing, and we look forward to building on this further.”
