Previously unheard audio recordings of Princess Diana are set to be revealed in the groundbreaking new docuseries Diana: The Unheard Truth.
This three-part series is built upon five hours of secret taped conversations Princess Diana had with her close friend James Colthurst in 1991, recordings that served as the primary source for Andrew Morton’s legendary biography.
While Princess Diana’s death occurred over three decades ago, less than an hour of this extensive archive has ever been shared with the public. Produced by Love Monday in partnership with 53 Degrees Global, the documentary aims to challenge the long-standing “victim narrative” by showcasing Diana as a woman with her own agency and distinct voice.
The tapes reportedly contain her candid reflections on King Charles III, Camilla, and even Prince Andrew, providing a raw look at her perspective during one of the monarchy’s most turbulent eras.
The docuseries also features exclusive interviews with those in her inner circle, some of whom are speaking on camera for the first time. Contributors include her prep schoolmate Delissa Needham, celebrity hairdresser Sam McKnight, astrologer Penny Thornton, and her longtime confidante, journalist Richard Kay. Currently being shopped to global broadcasters, the project is financed by Rainmaker Films and Plymouth Films.
By blending these intimate oral histories with unprecedented audio access, The Unheard Truth seeks to redefine the historical portrait of the People’s Princess, moving beyond the reductive labels of the past to present a more complex and authentic human being.
