Jack Thorne, co-creator of Netflix’s Adolescence, has given his clearest answer yet regarding the possibility of a second season.
Speaking on The One Show, Thorne confirmed that there will not be a second season centered on the Miller family. He added that the creative team is not currently developing any new project set within the Adolescence universe.
However, Thorne noted that he and Stephen Graham would like to collaborate again in the future, though no concrete ideas are in place at this time: “Stephen said there might be something at the back of our brains somewhere, there isn’t anything. I’ve got this brain and I know Stephen’s brain and there is nothing there at the moment, but give us time and there might be something else.”
While Adolescence was filmed using a one-shot narrative approach, Thorne said the format could potentially be revisited in the future with a different story.
The series won four awards at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, including Best Limited Series, and is currently available to stream on Netflix.
