Following its official in-competition debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received an impressive seven-minute standing ovation, Neon has released the official teaser trailer for South Korean director Na Hong-jin’s highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, Hope.
Slated for a theatrical release this fall, early reviews praise the 2-hour-and-40-minute epic as an action-packed blockbuster that maintains a relentless, non-stop pace. The story unfolds in Hope Harbor, a remote village near the Demilitarized Zone, where police chief Bum-seok investigates local reports of a tiger sighting. However, as panic spreads, he is forced to confront an unbelievable, extra-terrestrial reality terrorizing the town.

The film boasts an ensemble, star-studded cast that brings together South Korean heavyweights Hwang Jung-min and Zo In-sung, alongside Squid Game breakout star Hoyeon. Joining them are international talents including Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, Taylor Russell, and Cameron Britton.
While Neon secured the North American and English-language distribution rights, Mubi aggressively acquired the rights for Türkiye, Latin America, Italy, Spain, and Germany ahead of the film’s highly successful Cannes premiere.
