HBO Max has officially renewed Stuart Fails to Save the Universe for a second season following the comedy’s strong global debut.
The The Big Bang Theory spin-off, produced by Warner Bros. Television, has become the platform’s second biggest comedy launch worldwide.
Created by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn and Bill Prady, the series earned a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes and received favorable reviews from several major media outlets.
The team is now preparing to continue exploring the multiverse in Season 2.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe follows comic book store owner Stuart, who accidentally causes a multiverse catastrophe after breaking a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. With reality in danger, Stuart teams up with his girlfriend Denise, geologist Bert and quantum physicist Barry Kripke to try to repair the damage. Along the way, the group encounters alternate-universe versions of familiar The Big Bang Theory characters.
Kevin Sussman leads the series as Stuart, alongside Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert and John Ross Bowie as Kripke.
New episodes of the first season continue to arrive weekly on HBO Max, with the season final scheduled for September 24. Meanwhile, development on the second season is moving forward.
