Beta Film Renews Hit Turkish Series ‘Persona’ for Season Two
During the second day of MIPTV, Beta Film hosted a conference at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes, showcasing their portfolio, which notably featured the International Emmy-winning Turkish series, Persona.
Having previously licensed season one, produced by Ay Yapım, Beta Film announced the development of the second season, along with plans for a French adaptation.

Haluk Bilginer secured the prestigious ‘Best Actor’ award at the 47th International Emmy Awards for his portrayal in the acclaimed crime-drama series Persona. Directed by Onur Saylak and written by Hakan Günday, the series has garnered significant acclaim.
The narrative revolves around Agâh, a retired judicial officer at 65, who cross paths with Nevra, the sole female police officer in the Istanbul Homicide Bureau. Agâh, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, seizes an opportunity to execute a long-planned murder, knowing he won’t recall or regret it. Meanwhile, Nevra, on the brink of resignation due to the misogynistic behavior of her colleagues, undergoes a profound transformation due to Agâh’s crime.
The saga delves into Agâh Beyoğlu’s quest for vengeance, exploring the intricacies of human nature, memory, and the pursuit of justice. Season 1, consisting of 12 episodes, garnered widespread acclaim upon its airing on Puhutv.
In the second season aired on GAİN, the narrative delves into a more personal conflict for the protagonist, adding depth to the storyline.
