Netflix has unveiled a surprise teaser for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, marking Brad Pitt’s return to the fan-favorite character in a new film directed by David Fincher. The teaser debuted during the Super Bowl.
Set in the universe of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the film is written by Tarantino, with Fincher taking the helm as director.
The brief teaser offers glimpses of Cliff Booth’s new life in the 1970s, leaning into retro music cues, Old Hollywood aesthetics, and tongue-in-cheek visual details that play with censorship. The teaser’s final shot lingers on an Oscar statuette sitting on Booth’s desk, a knowing nod to Pitt’s Academy Award win for Best Supporting Actor for the role in 2019.
The story unfolds after the alternate-history ending of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and is set firmly in the 1970s. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton is not expected to return.

The ensemble cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, and JB Tadena, with Timothy Olyphant reprising his role as James Stacy.
Tarantino and Pitt produce alongside David Heyman, Ceán Chaffin, and Stacey Sher. The Adventures of Cliff Booth was produced for Netflix and has completed filming in Los Angeles.
No official release date has yet been announced for The Adventures of Cliff Booth.
