CANAL+ is strengthening its European footprint by expanding the broadcast of the prestigious César Awards to additional territories in 2026.
As co-producer and exclusive broadcaster of France’s top film awards, CANAL+ will bring this year’s ceremony to viewers in Poland via CANAL+ Premium and FilmBox Premium. For the first time, audiences in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands will also be able to watch the event on FilmBox-branded channels. All broadcasts will be available in local language versions, underscoring the group’s strategy to enhance accessibility and regional engagement.
Recognized as one of the most significant events in European cinema, the César Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in French filmmaking across major categories such as Best Film and Best Director, while also honoring global productions through the Best Foreign Film award.
The 2026 ceremony will take place on 26 February at the iconic Olympia in Paris. The exclusive live broadcast, starting at 20:30, will air across CANAL+ owned channels, reaffirming the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting and promoting French cinema internationally.
In Poland, the ceremony will be shown live on CANAL+ Premium and FilmBox Premium channels, known for airing the best in cinema. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, FilmBox Premium will also carry the broadcast, while in the Netherlands the ceremony will be available on FilmBox, a channel offering a wide library of films ranging from evergreen classics to Hollywood hits.
Originally produced in French, the César Awards broadcast will be adapted for viewers in each local market. The ceremony will be aired with simultaneous interpretation into local languages, allowing audiences to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the event.
The 51st César Awards ceremony will be hosted by actor Benjamin Lavernhe and presided over by Camille Cottin. During the event, Hollywood star Jim Carrey will receive the Honorary César Award for lifetime artistic achievement.
