Andrew Scott is set to star opposite Emily Blunt in Walk the Blue Fields.
Ciarán Hinds and Tom Cullen have also joined the cast.
The project is being developed by Netflix in partnership with Compelling Pictures, Element Pictures (a Fremantle company), and Ledbury Productions.
Walk the Blue Fields is based on the short story of the same name by Irish author Claire Keegan. The story centers on a woman on her wedding day who is forced to confront a heartbreaking decision when a love triangle from her past threatens to resurface.
John Crowley, best known for Brooklyn, will direct the adaptation. The screenplay is written by multi–Tony Award-nominated playwright Conor McPherson. Producers include Denis O’Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri for Compelling Pictures, along with Blunt’s Ledbury Productions.
Scott most recently appeared in Blue Moon and Wake Up Dead Man. His upcoming projects include Pressure, A Place in Hell, and Elsinore.
