Banijay Productions Germany has launched its first micro drama project, focusing on mobile-first and short-form storytelling.
The series spans 28 episodes and features eight well-known German content creators, who collectively reach 33 million followers. The project’s lead producer, Imke Runde, is an experienced professional who has previously worked on numerous German series and for channels such as RTL, Sat.1, and Vox.
The debut project is led by executive producer Imke Runde, whose scripted experience includes Verklag mich doch! (Vox), Richterin Barbara Salesch (Sat.1), Staatsanwalt Posch ermittelt (RTL), Das Strafgericht (RTL), Typisch Pubertät! (RTL), Hilf mir doch! (Vox) and Patchwork Family (Sat.1).
Banijay Germany sees micro dramas as an opportunity to experiment with new formats and distribution models, adapting to mobile and platform-driven viewing habits. This move also supports Banijay Group’s global expansion in micro dramas, following initiatives such as vertical micro dramas in Brazil, short-form mockumentaries in Finland with YLE, and three micro drama projects in Iberia.
