Apple TV+’s phenomenon Ted Lasso is making a surprise return, and the first teaser suggests that Ted is facing a challenge unlike anything he’s tackled before.
In a major narrative shift, Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) returns to London to take on the management of a second-division women’s football team. As the Richmond locals and the broader football world adjust to this new era, Ted is set to bring his signature “Believe” philosophy to the women’s game. Fans won’t have to wait much longer, as the new season officially kicks off on August 5, with episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays.

The core ensemble is confirmed to return, including Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Juno Temple (Keeley), and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), alongside exciting new additions like Tanya Reynolds and Faye Marsay. There is also a notable casting change for Ted’s son, Henry; now a 12-year-old skilled player, he will be portrayed by Grant Feely, known for his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Behind the scenes, the creative engine remains strong with the addition of executive producer Jack Burditt joining the original team. Led by Bill Lawrence and Sudeikis, the production promises a season defined by the theme of “leaping before you look,” signaling a year of bold risks and heartwarming surprises.
