Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has officially commissioned a local adaptation of Talpa Studios’ innovative gameshow format, The House of Hide & Seek.
Set to be titled El Escondite in Spain, the series breathes new life into the classic childhood game by placing it within a massive, high-tech set featuring over 120 unique hiding spots, allowing audiences to track every strategic move of the contestants in real time. This agreement marks the first international sale for the format, which was created by Talpa Studios and David Grifhorst in collaboration with Fox Entertainment Studios in the US.
Produced by Warner Bros ITVP Spain, the Spanish version will be filmed at Talpa Studios’ specialized production hub in the Netherlands. Each episode will feature six celebrities competing in intense rounds that blend riddles, strategy, and high-tension searches, alternating between on-set challenges and immersive hide-and-seek gameplay before a live audience.
While the original version is set to debut in the Netherlands on RTL 4 and the Videoland platform later this year, the Spanish adaptation is already poised to bring a fresh and nostalgic energy to Spain’s television landscape.
