Netflix star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is making her highly anticipated return in the upcoming dance-comedy Best of the Best, following her breakout success in Never Have I Ever.
Starring alongside Priyanka Kedia and Hasan Minhaj, the film dives into the vibrant and surprisingly cutthroat world of competitive Bollywood fusion dance on college campuses. The story follows childhood best friends Maya (Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Kedia) as they join their university’s team, only to discover that the journey toward a national championship is far more chaotic and intense than they ever imagined.
The project reunites Ramakrishnan with director Lena Khan, who previously helmed several episodes of Never Have I Ever, while Hasan Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam serve as both co-writers and producers. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Chaneil Kular (Sex Education), Nico Greetham (The Prom), Lilly Singh (Bad Moms), and Janina Gavankar (The Morning Show).
Celebrating the power of friendship and the growing pains of young adulthood, Best of the Best is set to premiere on Netflix on September 18.
