OGM UNIVERSE wrapped up MIPCOM 2026 with a focus on expanding the international reach of its catalogue, presenting new drama Ferda (Karakuyu) alongside the second season of Deep in Love.
Produced by OGM Pictures, Deep in Love has made a strong return on TRT 1, breaking ratings records and ranking as the number one drama for three consecutive weeks, while Ferda (Karakuyu) is preparing for its upcoming premiere on Kanal D.
Ekin Koyuncu Karaman, Global Distribution & Partnership Director at OGM UNIVERSE, spoke to Episode about the company’s experience at MIPCOM, the response to its latest titles, and the importance of building lasting relationships with international buyers. She also discussed the storytelling elements and cast driving the appeal of both series, the opportunities to translate domestic success into international sales, and OGM UNIVERSE’s next steps following the market, including its plans for DICM and MIP Cancun.
How was MIPCOM overall for OGM UNIVERSE?
MIPCOM was a productive market for OGM UNIVERSE, allowing us to introduce our new titles while continuing to develop the international reach of our existing catalogue. Meeting buyers from different regions allowed us to discuss their programming needs and understand how audience expectations are evolving. Those conversations are essential to finding the right home for each of our stories.
Presenting Ferda (Karakuyu) alongside the second season of Deep in Love was particularly valuable. One is a new title beginning its international journey; the other is returning with an established audience and a strong season opening. Together, they gave us a compelling slate to bring to our meetings.
How is Deep in Love performing?
Produced by OGM Pictures, Deep in Love has made an outstanding start to its second season, breaking ratings records on TRT 1 every Friday evening and ranking as the number one drama for three consecutive weeks. Sustaining audience loyalty into a second season is an important achievement, and this performance gives us a strong foundation for our international sales conversations.
At the heart of the series is the relationship between the characters played by Deniz Baysal and Ulaş Tuna Astepe, set against family conflict and the distinctive atmosphere of the Black Sea region. Alongside its central love story, the series explores belonging, loyalty and unresolved conflicts from the past—emotions that resonate across borders. Our focus is now on translating that strong domestic momentum into further international opportunities.
How is the interest in Ferda (Karakuyu)?
Ferda (Karakuyu) was one of the key new titles in our MIPCOM lineup. Produced by OGM Pictures and set to premiere on Kanal D, the series stars Onur Tuna and Özge Törer, bringing together a compelling story and two leads already familiar to international audiences through their previous work. That recognition provides a valuable starting point when introducing a new series to buyers.
Seeing these actors together in new roles is an important part of the project’s appeal. In our conversations, we have been highlighting both the cast and the relationships, family secrets and unresolved tensions that drive the story. With its upcoming Kanal D launch, our priority is to build on the initial interest and develop the right long-term broadcast partnerships for the title.
What were the main highlights, and what comes next?
The most valuable part of MIPCOM was the opportunity to spend time with our existing partners and meet potential new collaborators from different markets. Understanding buyers’ priorities, discussing where our titles could fit within their schedules, and exploring opportunities across our catalogue made these conversations particularly useful. Beyond introducing individual titles, the market was an opportunity to strengthen relationships and lay the groundwork for future partnerships.
We are now following up on those conversations, sharing materials and discussing the next steps with buyers. DICM and MIP Cancun will give us further opportunities to build on these discussions, particularly across Latin America and the MENA region. We look forward to sharing news as agreements are confirmed.
