Netflix’s Vladimir is adapted from Julia May Jonas’ novel. The eight-episode series stars Rachel Weisz as a middle-aged literature professor, with Weisz also serving as a producer.
The story centers on the professor as she develops an obsessive fixation on her younger colleague, Vladimir (Leo Woodall). The series explores themes of passion, obsession, power, aging, sex, campus politics, and cancel culture.
Narrated through frequent direct addresses to the camera, the series constantly questions the reliability of its protagonist’s perspective.
John Slattery co-stars as the professor’s husband, a fellow academic facing allegations of sexual assault.
The series is set to premiere on Netflix on March 5.
