Beta Film has sold its royal drama Maxima to 85 territories worldwide.
The series has secured major deals including HBO Max in France, LGUPlus in South Korea, Dubai TV across the Middle East and North Africa, and Nova in Greece and Cyprus. Sales had previously been announced for HBO Max in Latin America, SBS in Australia, Scandinavia, and German-speaking territories.
A trailer for season two has been released by Beta Film and Millstreet Films. The new season will premiere on Videoland in the Netherlands on March 14, followed by rollouts in additional territories.
The first season broke viewership records on Videoland in the Netherlands and delivered strong ratings on Rai in Italy, TV2 in Denmark, and Atresmedia in Spain. In Latin America, the series ranked in HBO Max’s Top 10 for multiple weeks.
Following the engagement that closed season one, the story shifts to Maxima and Willem-Alexander’s wedding journey. As she prepares to enter the royal family, Maxima struggles to balance her personal identity, evolving family dynamics, and the responsibilities of a future queen. The narrative spans from the couple’s wedding to Willem-Alexander’s coronation a decade later.
Beta Film will present the new seasons to international buyers during the London TV Screenings in February.
