Annie Weisman has signed a multi-year, first-look deal with Apple TV.
This agreement gives the platform the first opportunity to review and consider any projects Weisman develops for them. Her upcoming series, Imperfect Women, adapted from Araminta Hall’s novel, is set to make its global debut on Apple TV on March 18. The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara, and follows a crime that disrupts the decades-long friendship of three women, exploring the consequences of the crime, betrayals, and the complexities of human relationships.
Weisman is best known as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of Apple TV’s Emmy-nominated series Physical, which received praise for its sensitive and accurate portrayal of eating disorders. She also served as showrunner and executive producer on Peacock’s Based on a True Story and Fox’s Almost Family. In addition, she worked as co-executive producer on Hulu’s The Path.
A playwright as well, her theatrical works include Be Aggressive, Hold Please, The Essential Alice, and Surf Report. Her previous television credits include Suburgatory, Desperate Housewives, Samantha Who?, Dead Like Me, and About a Boy. Annie Weisman is represented by WME and Gendler, Kelly & Cunningham.
