Will Forte is in talks to join the cast of A24’s fantasy comedy Goblin.
He is set to star alongside Skyler Gisondo and Kenneth Branagh, who will voice the film’s titular character. The film is directed by David Mikalson, with production scheduled to begin this fall. After dropping out of film school, Mikalson began making short films independently and developed the idea for Goblin outside the traditional Hollywood system.

He invested his own money into the project by creating an anatomically detailed practical goblin puppet for the title character. Thanks to the screenplay, Mikalson secured representation from WME, Kaplan/Perrone, and attorney Chris Abramson, leading to nearly 100 industry meetings.
While many studios preferred to wait until he completed a micro-budget version of the film, A24 chose to back the project early, giving the director the opportunity to fully realize his vision. Will Forte was most recently seen in The Four Seasons, Nebraska, and MacGruber.
